A charming, character-filled cottage that’s been thoughtfully extended and modernised for comfort. With woodland directly behind and far-reaching views — stretching up to ten miles to the coast on a clear day — this is a truly unique setting.
The cottage comfortably sleeps six adults, offering a peaceful retreat. For larger groups, the separate lodge on site (listed separately as Stag Lodge at The Sussex Cottage) sleeps two additional guests, making it ideal for extended family gatherings or friends travelling together. There is a loft bedroom with small single mattresses for petite people upon request.
Parking for 3 cars on site with an overflow up the bridle way, and and AV charger for those with electric cars. The kitchen is fully equipped and the separate dining room can accommodate 8/10 people. The Conservatory offers a relaxed dining area with a view over the south garden.

The Sussex Cottage is a wonderfully secluded and substantial cottage in the woods on the edge of the South Downs. It is a lovely family retreat thrown open to visitors, beautifully furnished, comfortable and obviously much loved. The conservatory was ideal for the bride and bridesmaids to make up and the garden was the perfect place for the post wedding family brunch. The décor makes you wish that you could meet the owners, perhaps at a jolly drinks party.
